Accessibility
Ceiling should work for everyone: coaches, their teams and their clients. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across ceiling.app, the coach workspace and every client app.
High contrast mode
High contrast mode replaces every color, including a coach's brand colors, with high contrast ones and makes lines and focus outlines stronger.
- It turns on by itself when your device asks for more contrast.
- You can switch it on or off in the footer of ceiling.app, in Profile in a client app and in Settings in the coach workspace. When you are signed in, your choice is remembered for your account.
- When your device uses forced colors, such as Windows contrast themes, Ceiling uses your colors.
Keyboard
Ceiling is built to be used with a keyboard. Each page starts with a link that skips to the main content, the focused item has a visible outline, menus move with the arrow keys, and Escape closes menus, dialogs and tips.
Screen readers
Pages use headings and landmarks, form fields have labels, and icons that carry meaning have names. Notices that appear after an action, such as a saved change, are announced.
Motion, size and touch
- Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages reflow on small screens and when you zoom in, without sideways scrolling.
- Buttons and controls are at least 44 pixels, so they are easy to tap.
How we test
Automated accessibility checks run on key pages, at desktop and phone sizes, in our test suite, and we fix what they find.
Known limits
Coaches add their own content, such as images, videos and files. We give them the tools to make it accessible, but we cannot check every item they add. If something a coach published is hard to use, tell the coach, or tell us and we will pass it on.
Report a barrier
If anything in Ceiling is hard or impossible for you to use, email accessibility@ceiling.app. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology you use. We will reply and tell you what we will do about it.
